How to define Reference in CREO

Requirement:-

It required to define when we have to sketch or make any part with reference to other parts or sketch.

How To Define:-

Reference is define in Sketch mode and required in Sketch mode only.

Sketch mode activated when you select any plan or surface at where you are going to create other part.

When you enter in sketch mode or feature then you will see below icon on the left side of screen as shown below:


Now as shown select the reference feature and below dialog box will open.
There are two predefined references available.

Note:-

  1. Reference line is always display as doted line as per above picture.
  2. Reference is like a lines, circle or dot only.
If we want to create a line on side line of a rectangle then you have to make reference line.

So you just have to click on left edge of the side. And one line is created automatically similar with reference line.

Selected reference line description is added in dialog box.

And then close the box.

Now you able to make reference of other parts which is already created and going to create new part on created part.
